Since you want a good report as well, I will give one. We bought a week time share for the Island Gulf Resort in Madeira Beach, FL on ebay several years ago on the Gulf of Mexico. We bought week 25Â in June. We went and loved it so much that we bought a week in August as well on ebay.
It is a small, well maintained time share that keeps the costs low. It was just redecorated this year, but it is basic, not fancy. The Board of Directors are owners and it is right on the beach. It is a very nice beach and the one bedroom units have balconies hanging over the beach. My husband likes to sit out on the balcony looking at the water for hours. The two bedrooms have the street view. They do not have a pool, but they have a large spa they are having repaired. We don't care as we go in the gulf. It's nice and warm in the summer and there are waves because it is out on an island, not on the mainland. St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island and Reddington Beach are also on the island. There is only one parking spot per unit but they have an agreement with the church two blocks away for parking other cars. There is a wonderful homemade ice cream place (also home made hot fudge sauce) across the street called the Candy Kitchen. There is a trolley bus that runs up and down the island that you can take to go to the supermarket, John's Pass with its stores, boats and restaurants so you are fine with one car. It's not fancy, but the people who use it are mostly owners and it is small and friendly. There are lots of owners who have been coming for 20 years. We bought our first week directly from people who had just become grandparents in Michigan and realized they would be spending their vacation time with their grandchildren. The second week I bought from an agency so I don't know the history. I recommend it to anyone who wants to make a trade or just pay a nightly fee to use one of the apartments.
