My wife and I purchased a timeshare through Bluegreen at Charleston, SC. We have 8,000 points every other year. We soon learned that we didn't have enough points to use the timeshare for an entire week. We were definitely misled.

We pay outrageously high interest to a mortgage company owned by Bluegreen, . No attorney was present at the loan closing. We were never told about the maintenance fee, which is exorbitant, between the monthly payment and the maintenance fee I don't know how much longer we can hold out.

They told me i could sell the timeshare as easy as that once we thought we are not going to use it which is a total BS. We tried to sell our timeshare back to bluegreen, they refused, refered us to a real estate company (Pinnacle Vacations) owned by Bluegreen...I am paying Pinnacle $35.00 in since 2004. Nothing!! Hope we can do something about this. There has to be something we can do. I am so much hopeless and sick about this thing going around and tricking others into it.

My experiences i believe won't be much different from other victims. Thanks for putting my rant up.

 I have owned Bluegreen now for almost three years.. My wife and I love it...because we asked questions...I think its so funny that people expect other people to do things for them.. I bet you didn't even do any research before buying. Ya went on a tour and bought.. the key here is YOU bought it ..no one held a gun to your head. I agree they don't tell you everything, however, compare Bluegreen to other companies and they are saints .. Ya should have asked more questions...So YOU where clear on what YOU where buying..

We have experienced negatives with Bluegreen too ... Please, please be sure to report your claim to the Federal Trade Commission, The Attorney General in the state where you live, the Attorney General in the state where you made your Bluegreen related purchase, and the Better Business Bureau in Boca Raton, FL (Headquarters of Bluegreen Corp.) Do not give up .. follow-up on your complaints. Be persistent, because the more reported complaints these agencies recieve, the more help we individuals may get from some actions on behalf of a group of complainers. Remember, you are not alone. So many people have been taken advantage of in this process. Act on your behalf and this may help you as well as benefitting others. If you have questions, contact me. If you have a complaint as a Floridian, I am particularly interested in hearing from you. Thank you for helping!

I just want out.. I cannot afford these very high mortgage payments and maintenance fees any more. I offered to give it back, but they said NO. Sent me to PINNACLE who admitted that because I still have a mortgage my chances of selling were slim to none. What should I do? I dont want to sit around complaining about it. This economy is simply putting a damper on my ability to continue paying for this timeshare. How can I get rid of it. Please I wish someone would just take over the payments. I dont want to make a dime off of it.. I just want to rid my purse of the financial burden

You know Jason, I did ask questions and thought we were well aware of our contract. What I did not know, because I was too naieve was that I could never sell this boat. We all dream of endless vacations, but until you are retired, there is no time when you can actually make a reservation. When you are retired, it is the same thing. I want to sell. How'd you or other contented customers like to buy for a real deal? I'll sell really cheap. Of course, Bluegreen will only accept a sale from Pinnacle... THAT was never mentioned in ANY contract.

Who paid you to be so sanctimonious? These sellers count on people being in differing stages of stress or need and know exactly how to play on it. You may have asked questions but that doesn't make you superior. It only makes you good at the time you needed to be.

Hi, I am in the same boat. I bought in 2007. We were very reluctant, but they were very relentless. They told lie after lie. They did tell the truth about the Rental Program, but effective 1/1/2008 they got rid of it. How do I become part of the class action. I feel so trapped, but not going down without a fight.

I am in the exact position my friend. When I bought it in Charleston as well, I was told if my girlfriend and I split it would be so easy to sell. well I am on the 7,000 even plan and every time I have tried to use it, I never have enough points and they don't even have resorts in the areas I vacation. I was told a lot of lies and even after doing research I would have to pay much more to buy points to make it worth a damn. Worse off is it is actually cheaper to put together a vacation yourself. F Bluegreen, I would love it if everyone they lied to either stopped paying or started a class action suit.

Pinnacle Vacations would not sale my points and told me they were worthless and that charter memberships do not transfer yet their website (Pinnacle) clearly advertises the same.

I have offered to turn my timeshare back in and they refused to take it. They are stealing from a disabled widow at the rate of $400 in late fees and penalties since November 2011. Lawyers, you want my case. Get them off my back, restore my credit rating and you can keep anything you get from the lying, stealing, rascals!

The only way to stop them is to report them endlessly to the FTC, BBB, and Attorney General. Eventually, someone will have to stand up for the millions of us out there who have been tricked with unfair and deceptive practices. Just keep passing on the word to complain!

All of the same things you noted have happened to me too.

Kathleen, I am in the process of reporting them, but to no avail so far. All I get from them is denial. I am considering suing them. I am out over $12,000 and owe lots more. They will probably foreclose on me. I have never used it and only bought because of all their lies. They have to lie or they would be out of business. We need to write to Senators and Congressmen to get the laws regarding timeshares changed.

I too feel ripped off and unable to sell. I have a feeling Bluegreen, Pinnacle Realty and Pinnacle Recovery are all the same. So instead of beating my head against the wall EVERYONE should try this; Since it is impossible to sell, Why not everyone who feels ripped off, as a gester of reward for good behavior send parolees and recovering drug addicts on vacation to you favorite Bluegreen resort! See if that gets their attention!

My wife and I too are looking to join a Class action suit. We bought this thing in '08. We have been paying these crazy fees and we told all kinds of BS.

If anyone knows of anything being done or how to sell this thing please let us know.

I also saw a link about a suit in PA:

www.whtm.com/.../560508.html

It says "If you signed a contract and had problems with Blue Green, you can call the attorney general's consumer protection hotline. The number is 1-800-441-2555."

Has anyone call them?

It is ubelievable how may people I have read who have had the same story as myslef. There are also confirming iformatio from ex employees. Whats is more unbelievable is that the judicial system allows companies like this skirt aroud the laws - kinda like the mafia!
I have been i cotact with Florida's Attorney Generals Office.
You know I would gladly sell these people who love Bluegreen. I will take 30% off, let them put their money where their mouths are!

If you have filed a complaint with the Florida Attorney General, have you also filed with the Better Business Bureau in Palm Beach County where the Bluegreen Corporate Office is located? Do not give up - follow up on your complaint by phoning the FL ATTORNEY GENERAL's OFFICE for an up-date on your complaint. Also, urge anyone else who may have bough from Bluegreen to contact the Attorney General's Office as well. The AG's office needs to hear from all who have been mislead or taken advantage of by Bluegreen. That way the AG's office may be able to take action on behalf of the citizens of the state and others who may have been harmed. You are not alone. Let your voice be heard loud and clear. Stand up for yourself!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon in gatlinburg, TN and we went to a vacation club presentation and signs up for the "trial ownership, Thant was 2008, in 2009 we went St. Augustine, FL, where we did the 9000 points a year plan. Well they left important things out, like the outrageous maintenance fees, and what happens if u miss a payment, how hard it is to speak to a person about your account, and Pinnacle Recovery CA(they are very rude!). We have only been married for 3 years, and the financial honeymoon is over! I tried to speak to the CA today and the lady I think here name is Dee R. And she was sooooo rude to me, told me I've had the same story since Jan, mind u I've only spoke to someone at the CA two other times, and it was a guy (Steve) Then I got a letter from BG sayin I had thirty days to make a payment, and two days later recieved a letter from Pinnacle Recovery saying that I now owe them $200 more than I actually owed! If we knew then (in gatlinburg) what we know now, we would have never went to the presentation! We moved this year, we are both n school full- time, and my husband just recently started working after almost 1 1/2 months! Advice & Help Needed!!!!!

We are in a similar situation with a Tahiti Village Timeshare in Las Vegas. We were sold a bill of goods, the company that was selling them went bankrupt, and we decided to take action ourselves. We just stopped paying the mortgage. The worst that could happen is a bad credit rating. Been there before and life goes on. It has been turned over to Pinnacle Recovery.

We make judicious use of caller ID so they don't bother us. We had previously sent a letter to Tahiti Village and outlined that we would just like them to take back the timeshare, but they ignored it.

We just received an unsigned letter from Pinnacle stating that Tahiti had authorized them to offer a deal for about $7300 cash to let us out of the mortgage, which was about $25K in January, but they are saying it is 36K now. I don't trust Pinnacle. They could very easily accept the 7300 and come after us for the rest. Again, the letter was not signed by anyone. Naturally, there is a time limit.

Has aynone from this board received similar letters?
