We own three Timeshares at Summer Bay Desert Club Resort and can not use one of them this year. It appears we are being punished again. I think it goes back to the purchase of The Crown Club that we were talked into by their lies. I had a confirm reservation for a ski resort since last summer. I got a call from the RCI rep few days ago, he said due to the company over-booking, my reserved resort is not available anymore, he offered me some other resorts let me to check them out. We were cheated by RCI and Best Western Resort Country Club, Manesar, India and have hence filed a complaint (complaint No. 579/2009) in the Consumer Courts, Sheikh Serai. The case is sub-judice. The summary of my complaint is below: November 2, 2010 To: Office of the Attorney General Division Consumer Protection 1302 E. XXX, Suite XX XXX. My name is Dave and I am a timeshare owner who resides in Virginia. I am an avid member of the Timeshare Users Group (TUG) where I go by the USERNAME: Goofyhobbie.I have been working closely as a volunteer with fellow TUGgers Jennie and Susan2 on a project that many consider to be vitally important to all timeshare owners, and indeed the future of timesharing. My wife and I bought a time share an RCI timeshare in Myrtle Beach two years ago. We've now been informed that instead of a weekly exchange system, RCI will now use a "points" system. Plantation Resorts, an RCI affiliate, explains to us that it will cost us nearly $8,000 in cash to convert our time share to the new system. However, they will waive our conversion fee on our time share if we buy a second time share for between $8,000-$30,000. We, too, were duped by RCI and a RCI affiliated resort. My wife and I are in our 20's and I'm in the military. We signed up for the whole "vacation package" including a 4 day-3 night in Orlando with 2 Universal Studios tickets for 2 days, a 3 day-2 night in florida or las vegas, and a 4 day-3 night in aruba. All for a low price of $200/person. We decided to use the Orlando vacation on our way to Miami before departing on a cruise. |
