My wife and I purchase a time share with Shells Vacation Club for 3500.00 points, we purchase the time share in 2006. I called Shells Vacation Club to asked them how could I sell my time share, they referred me to one of their sale person.

I don't know what SHELL VACATIONS CLUB is thinking! Interval International has almost no resorts for extra getaways, no last calls, like RCI used too. I was so happy with RCI and Shell Vacations Club didn't even give us the choice to keep them, they just decided it was the best thing AGAIN for them so they went ahead and made the switch.

Seriously, if you are someone thinking about buying a timeshare, stay away from all of them, but especially SVC. I bought my timeshare outright with cash with my then girlfriend, now wife, 7 years ago.

Shell Vacations Club I bought an "Explorer Membership" for 6000 points in 2008 - I was told I could keep the points when I bought a membership. They played on the fact that I wanted to go to Venice. I could not qualify for the loan for a membership and so they sold me the “Explorer”. I was to pay them for 18 months and then I would have 6000 points and could go to Venice through their international exchange partner - RCI.

Hi, I bought into Shell in 2007 and within months noticed that something was wrong. I was told I could use the points whenever I wanted, what they fail to tell you is nothing is ever available. Additionally I was at the sales pitch for what felt like an eternity, they kept dangling pricing options, even offering a credit card for the down payment. I was told buy-in, "this will improve your credit, it's like owning property". They never mentioned that the maintenance fees increase drastically.

If you are here, you probably already knew all the bad things about Shell Vacations Club. They lied to you, and now it's too late to cancel. Now you find yourself a victim. But it's not too late to do something to recover your losss and prevent the company from preying on other people in the future.

As with so many of the vacation packages, they look so very good at the time you are being pressured into signing up for this supposedly "great" deal.

Sales people use alot of tatics to se ll product, I guess this would be a result of pure commission sales.

My wife and I have used "the" package once since purchasing 3500 point s some 3 years ago and in order to get a full week at the Vino Bella resort we needed 7000 points or (2) years worth.

We signed up for a ten year mortgage for 2500 points and have only been able to use it a few times in 7 years. Their resorts are always unavailable when we call to get a reservation.

Since Shell Corp bought into the resort our fees have doubled to over$1,100. a year would like to join with other owners to file a suit.

We attended a fair and accepted their free gift to attend a meeting on timeshares . we sign the dotted line and are short 7,000.00 . When we realize are mistake it was too late, they would not cancel the contract.

I have complete experience as you. The end result was we paid total $12,299 for 1750 points in April 2009, which can only let us get 2 to 3 days vacation in Hawaii in 2010, and we need to buy more points, instead of we were told that 1,750 points could reserve a location including Hawaii from 7 to ten days any time before we signed the contract and made the payment;

I went to presentation to purchase time share from sHELL VACATION CLUB. tHEY INSULTED ME FOR TAKING GIFT FOR ATTENDING. They then proceeded to demand I BUY A TIME SHARE FOR 54,00 dollars.

Shell Vacations Club will tell any and every lie possible to sell their units.

1) The units retain their value - there is NO market to sell these units. We have spent over $3000 trying to sell the units on the secondary market or even to rent our week, over two years and zero interest.

2) Their interim financing is easily replaceable with regular bank financing. In three years, we have not found one bank that would make a loan on the timeshare - it is patently false that anyone will loan on this and this lie only serves to close the sale and tie you to a high interest rate loan.

I unfortunately agree with all the bad reviews of Shell Vacations. We have been an “owner for almost a year now and have been turned down for every reservation we have tried to make. We eventually spent a weekend at the Vino Bello and it was very nice, but it was the weekend they said they had space not the weekend we actually wanted.

My wife and I have experienced problems with Shell. We feel we were lied to and sucked into buying a timeshare. We purchased 4500 at the Legacy in AZ. First they sit you down and tell you how the cost of hotels will go up each year. Then they tell you how your timeshare is a "great investment." The cost will save you thousands over the years. They tell you the maintenance fees will never go up. The brochure we have even says the cost of your timeshare will never go up. The sell you on good investment.

I have been a been a Shell vacation owner for just over three years now. I am fed up with Shell and advise those thinking of buying to think twice. I can never get my reservation for when I want it and when I do get to stay, like I did this weekend at the Vino Bello I am appauld at the treatment.

I'm on vacation in Hawaii, visiting a (male) friend who works here at one of the military bases. I'm downtown and obviously just "touristing" and a young man asks if I'm interested in a Luau or Whale-watching trip - which I am. I'm alone all day and looking for fun things to do.

So, the first thing he asks is if I'm married and I say "no, I'm visiting a friend who works at the base and I'm not with anyone". Then he says he works for Shell Vacation Club timeshares and he can give me free tickets to a Luau and a day-trip to go snorkling for sitting in on a presentation.

We filed a complaint with the IL BBB, we also sent a lengthy letter through email to shell about our complaint. Of course we haven't heard back from them, it's been over a week.

Shell Vacations - Consumer Fraud –

Shell Vacations is selling Timeshares in many different locations but once you have made the purchase and receive all your documents you discover that what you really purchase is a right-to-use membership in the Shell Vacations Club. This cost me $15,000.
