In response to Belinda, my story is almost identical except that I didn't deal with as many people. I spoke once with Tim Hart, but I mostly dealt with Kim Hart. I even had a lawyer call at the beginning of all this and he thought it was legit.

I have been trying to get in touch with Sierra for a week or so and thought I would look them up and behold, found out about this scam just now.

THIS EXACT THING HAS HAPPENED TO ME I EVEN DID MY RESEARCH WITH THE B.B.B. BEFORE DOING ANYTHING NOT WHEN YOU LOOK IT UP IN OCTOBER 2010 THEY HAD THERE FIRST COMPLAINT. I WISH THAT I DID NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP.

Unfortunately I am in the same boat as Jay. All circumstances are the same with the exception of names. My week(s) are in Mexico. If anyone is interested I would like to try to retrieve our money. I'm not sure how to proceed but will certainly look into it. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Suzanne

Timeshare resale scam. I have a long series of emails and documents in my possession to substantiate the following: I had contracted with Sierra Rentals and Resale otherwise known as Sierra Resort Services to rent weeks (5 weeks 2009, 5 weeks for 2010) for my Cancun Real Club membership in Dec 2008, for a one time upfront fee of $689.

I have been scammed by Sierra Rentals and Sales or Sierra Club Rentals, a few different variations of the name have been used. I purchased a membership with them back in April/2008. This company was recommended to me by the resort where I purchased my fractional ownership - Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. This is where my nightmare begins.
