DO not get invloved with Promotora Sunset Beach Club or timeshares. These people took twoof our time shares nexchange for one of theirs three years ago and still have not transfered them into their name. We have been paying for all three of them for the last 36 months to no avail. HELP HELP

Don't ever ever go to the 90 min timeshare presentation from Promotora Sunset Beach Clubs, SA de CV (Sunset Group) in Cancun. They kept me there for nine hours! They put charges thru my credit card when I asked them not to.

The sunset group and RCI are a bunch of criminals. do not deal with them. all they do is take your money and do not render services properly.

BEWARE of this company!! They are frauds who do almost anything to get you to buy their Travel club/Timeshare.

We purchased a travel membership at Hacienda Tres Rios in Playas del Carmen, 30 miles south of Cancun. After over 6 hours of high pressures sales tactics, we signed the contract with Hacienda Tres Rios. We bought 2 weeks per year in a 2 bedroom condo. The models were we shown were beautiful, the resort was gorgeous and the breakfast we were given by one of the restaurants on-site was excellent. They offered us alcoholic drinks but we declined. The longer we stayed there, the lower the price dropped and the better the offer became. Each time we tried to le ave saying we were not interested, we were taken to another area with a different person and offered a lower price with even more "extras" thrown in.

This letter was sent to Budget Travel magazine in the hopes they will publish it. I would encourage others to do so also.

January 26,2008 Dear True Stories:

Unfortunately this is only too true and you may wish to publish this in a future edition as a warning.

I recently vacationed in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. In order to get to the resort I was staying at I had to take a plane to Cancun and then a taxi into town. As soon as I stepped off the plane and into the airport, I was approached by a gentleman offering me private shuttle service and 3 tickets to Chichen Itza for less that the cost of a taxi ride into Playa del Carmen. All I had to do was visit the new Tres Rios Hacienda, a self-proclaimed 6 start resort. There would, of course, be someone serving me a sales pitch, but a gourmet breakfast buffet would be included and it would only take an hour of my time.
