I am so happy to have this blog to write. I too went to Mexico, and got lured into seeing property. I succumbed to a pre-sale place- a bargain! Like the lady from London, lots of people to wear me down, and I finally gave them my credit card.
I did cancel three days later, but no refund, and now they are trying to get my timeshare that I own, and more money to complete the contract that I cancelled. Is a promissary note different?
Am I stuck owning something that will not be finished for two more years, according to the contract?
It is called theprivateresidenceclub.
All one word. It even had Scotiabank as one of the financiers, as well as First America Title Insurers. But apparently I do not own land, but one week in a 2 bedroom unit, which to me is a timeshare. It costs 800 maintenance, plus 350 for exhange fees, plus 16000, plus the one week timeshare that I own, where I actually have a land title deed. I want to have this contract cancelled, and I will contact the Mexican consulate. any tips?
