My wife and me purchased a time-share at the Westgate Resort at Park City, Utah in 2006. After a 4-hour ordeal that was to take 90 minutes, as many other complaints I've read about this resort have also gone through, we purchase a floating week unit in hopes to trade our week for other locations using Interval International. At the sales pitch we where told that we could trade our week each year if we wanted as a one bedroom on a float year or a two bedroom on a non-float year. In 2007 we did not use our week at all. When I recently called to exchange my week for this year I was told that I could not exchange it because I had not put my week in for an exchange for 2007. These are things you are not told during the pitch. Also as many other owners, when you go to use your week or flex time, there are never any rooms available. Rooms are not available even when you book ahead in advance 30 to 60 days. This has been the most frustrating experience I have ever gone through.

The reservation specialists are the rudest people I have ever tried to deal with. They are reluctant to give you a number that you can call and complain to. I have yet been able to find someone that will talk to me and try to make things good. This is the biggest scam I have ever seen. Funny, you don't see Worldmark or Trendwest on the complaint list.

I too wished I had done my homework on this place but in a high pressure sales environment you can't think about and make a decision the next day because it won't be there according to the many sales people they throw at you. I have wasted over $4,000 now that I could have used for a very nice vacation for my family, in return all I have is Westgate's excuses. Word to the wise; DON'T purchase a timeshare from Westgate!!

Westgate is a really bad company that lies to make sales numbers daily. David Seigal lives in Orlando and runs the Westgate Resort operation. It is a machine or I should say was until resently in 2008 when the economy stated its decline. It has been said both public and private that Westgate is in deep financial trouble. I have had the DISPLEASURE of working with Westgate employees and all I can say is Liars Crooks and thiefs. The sooner this company falls the better the public will be.Unfortunately the owners will suffer. But maybe it will get these individuals out of the bussiness of screwing everyone that walks thru their doors. The tables are turned on these individuals and timeshare is flat not just in Orlando Florida but everywhere. The public is wakeing up and timeshare may never recover from this economic down turn. Look for more of these timeshare companies to go under.

I am also dealing with Westgate and wish this nightmare would end. They have completely lied to us and we can never get in also. I have a week banked and can't even use it. We are having a hardship and tried to make arrangements to pay the maintenance and taxes, no way they said. What was supposed to be only $420 has gone up to almost $800 in only 2 years!! They were paid in full for the deed unfortunately and they turned us in to a collection agency which is another $500 on top of the already $800 they want. Everything they told us has been one big lie, they charged us for wireless internet and never put that in, even when I used my week I was harassed by them. Stay away from Westgate!!

Purchased a timeshare in Las Vegas; knew better but did it anyhow; I was able to cancel within the required timeline for the state of Nevada; however be careful. After getting back home and reviewed my contract I found pages missing-the once that told you about the timeline requirement for cancellation, and the fees that apply.
STAY AWAY, best decision I made to get rid of it well I could; however, it takes forever to get your money back; I am glad I called the Las Vegas Police Department and an Attorney.

Wonder why you can't get the weeks you want when you want to trade????
II and RCI sell the weeks for a profit!!!
They also give employees and their families the weeks as benefits at really low rates! lower than your maintenance! You end up with the stuff nobody wants!
I droped my II and RCI membership and rent it myself on TUG2.net I wouldn't give II or RCI another one of my weeks to sell or use for themselves! No wonders they are making money. You pay the maintenance, they sell the weeks to travel agencies!
Boy are we stupid!!!

I also purchased the PH tower in Vegas, just mailed the letter to cancel my contract (within 5 days). My wife still very worry about the whole situation. We are from Canada, we don't have certified mail, but we have registered mail, which have the same feature and provided us a return receipt. (hope it's okay). I also noticed a page is missing from the public offering statement, should I contact the police department and/or local attorney and file a complaint?

:-x

We were the victims of bait and switch sales tactics. We thought we bought a deluxe room. Got the floor plan and everything. We pay for a solid year and the next year we go on vacation. Guess what? All the sudden we now have a standard room. Our paper work is of course for a standard room. Though there was never any differentiation made between the two at the time of the sale. We were very up front with the sales guy about the unit we wanted and we still got ripped off! They are trying their best to back pedal around the floor plan we were given. This jerk even brought us right back to the same deluxe room we thought we bought after the sale because we wanted to see it again.
