Timeshare Info Industry Complaints Bluegreen - Timeshare buy back

Featuring:

(7 votes, average 4.00 out of 5)

For all of you like myself who bought a timeshare from Bluegreen and was told that they would buy it back if you were unhappy and now you find that what they told you was a lie, I have found a lawyer willing to file a class action suite against Bluegreen. You can contact me with your name, email, etc information and a brief history of your experience with Bluegreen and I will forward the information to you on how to get this process going. It is about time these people are held accountable. I am now retired and have had my membership for six years. I have never been able to use it. I am banned now because I refuse to pay my maintenance fee. Contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to get this going. If we can get ten or so persons, that is all my lawyer sais he needs to get started.

Please contact me.

I went through the same thing with BlueGreen and Orange Lake in Orlando. I bought the Orange Lake property first and was not happy but they refused to buy it back unless I owed less than 5,000 on it. so they sold it to me for 15,000 and they would only resell it if I owed less than 5,000 so I went to Bluegreen who said that they could have it sold in 90 days or less through their own reselling company. I paid and then I called about 2 1/2 months later to find out the status since I hadn't heard anything else and they had clsed the doors to the Atlanta Preview center. Please call me because they need to be stopped. I now have 2 timeshares and am very unhappy.

We too are banned from using it since refusing to pay maintenance fees. Those people do say they will pay this back from you but when I called they said NO. Please help!!

Went to a presantation, bluegreen said we would get more if we bought from them, , charter bonus time, payed dues, ect, , we bought, , , then we got home and found some resales out there, , pinnacle and timeshare resale, they said we would get all the same things that the company would get so we cancelled our ownership with bluegreen we bought, and bought from a second source, , , 6 months later still no title or papers, , no deed, , no charter, , no bonus time, ect, we should have kept our purchase with bluegreen, , now we are stuck with nothing, , lost our money to, , had to pay cash with the other guys, , , so my advice only buy from the bluegreen company, , , , sighned RESALE RIP OFF

I am in need of selling timeshare, cannot afford, timeshare gifts or bonuses were useless. They were scam offers to get me to buy (like free cruise, RCI free weeks, all hard to schedule and needed in fineprint to pay to go on cruise, just impossible to get a confirmation of free weekend vacation....)
I called to ask about selling back to Bluegreen they said I shouldn't go with other timeshare realtors, gave me the name of Pinnacle, then I found out

Blue Green has lie to me from free air and room in Los Vegas and 5 day free cruise etc. if I buy to maintains fees that was to be less than $800 to roll over time that lost value if you bank it. Tell them they owe me for the crap they put me thru.

My father-in-law struggled with getting out of a contract with blugreen for years. On the day his heart stopped, he had all the bluegreen paperwork on his desk, struggling with the fact that he had been "suckered" in by the sales rep to add more points to his account. He spent an additional $8,000 to "help make the timeshare more marketable," as recommended by the CROOKS. After months of no response, he was then told he had the unit priced too high. He had just added $8,000 in points, plus his original investment, and had the contract priced at $12,000. He was lastly told to drop the price to around $5,000 and he might be able to sell. What a scam... still paying the annual maintenance fee, $8,000 poorer, and has a contract for life, which goes to his heirs. This is WRONG!!!!!!!!!

I would love to be party to a class action suit. They just lied to my father big time. The South Carolina office, manager Jeff Mezzanotte and sales Mark Pack both told my father if he upgrades to platinum he could use $.10 per point to pay his maintenance fees. A week or two later he called to do that and the real value was about $.01 or $200 for 20,000 points!

Called corporate mortage and xteffere to service and an abominable woman named Christine went through the canned speech, a sales rep can not make promises etc. This contract is barely 2 weeks old and they suckered him big time. This will hurt his retirement.

Any serios class action suits from PA or DE please let me know. I own with him but they say this last contract was signed just by him and his wife and I did not need to sign. I find that hard to understand as I am reponsible for maint. fees.

Any real efforts to hurt this company I want in. I am contacting attorneys as well.

Mike

not sure how it works with a resale but i also have unlimited bonus time.

Bluegreen sold me knowing I was retiring and would be on a fixed income, they told me if things got tight they would sell it for me but take a 10% commission, I thought that was fair. Well guess what..liars. I was put int touch with a guy who did get me out of it. So I laugh at you Bluegreen you did buy mine back you dogs. Anyone who would like this guys name email me at I am on a mission to see Bluegreen refund everyone and go out of business.

0 # bluegreen timeshare buy backKathleen 2011-04-21 15:11
I have grown pretty frustrated as all of you can understand. Just as an FYI the maintenance fees do not count against your credit only non-payment of the mortgage! They will keep sending you to collections though and you will have to tell them you are part of the class action and to note your file as such. They also can't keep calling you after you tell them not to. I have given mortgage permission to call me though if I have not paid and it will be reported to collections. Basically after the second month of non-payment they call because it will be reported to the credit bureau the first of the coming month. The problem is I am not sure if I am going to be one of the claimants accepted for payoff. If not I will have to argue again to reduce the fees etc. If that happens I will give it away for $1 on ebay so I can transfer the title to someone else i guess. Anyone outside of PA is out of luck though. They are only settling on PA residents.

Yes please count me in on the lawsuit. I have been stuck and suckered and kicked in the back with these high mortgage payments and annual fees. They will not take it back (even at a loss to me)... the only way I can see out of this thing is thru foreclosure which will seriously damage my credit and I dont want to do that. What are the options? Remain hostage for life. WOW.. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME

We too have had this piece of crap for years. we paid all fees and dues for several years but still were NEVER allowed to use it. We held up our end of the agreement but they never held up theirs. Now the dues have tripled ,we haven't paid them in 3 years and they have put a watch on our credit report. If I could just get out with my credit restored and cut my loses I would.

Stop all the whining! If you learn how to use it the product works fine. The best advice is DON'T GO IN FOR THE FREE GIFT! Nothing is free and you will get the hard core press if you go in there. It's a sales presentation and that's how they make their money. You're just as much to blame as they are!

0 # Stop LyingNo Timeshare 2011-07-31 16:57
@Timeshare Bandit, it's not the high pressure sales pitch, it's the fact that you salespeople will lie just to get a deal. Bluegreen is a meat market for salespeople, if your VPG drops you're back on the interstate. I have nothing against timeshares, a lot of people own and enjoy them. It's when the bottom feeders lie and mislead that makes me have a problem. It's funny you use the name Timeshare Bandit, that tells me you will say ANYTHING to get the sale. What's Bluegreen's motto - Get a Sale, Get a Sampler, Get a name. Sell it honestly for once.

NO TIMESHARE...you seem to know quite a bit about the industry and specifically the terminolgy of Bluegreen (no matter how incorrect it is!) I here owners laugh and joke around the pool when I go to vacation and it baffles me how some of them ABUSE the system by thinking they're getting free gifts and bitch about the time they were there or a rogue sales person. The ignorance on the owners part is that they actually think they're getting paid to do an update of their ownership! What company in their right mind will PAY you to go over what you already bought? EXPECT a hard core sales pitch when you get the gifts...that's how they make they're money. If you are going to be a mooch and whore yourself out for $50-$100 while your on vacation with your family expect to sold something! The easiest way to do that is go in for free (No Gift) and ask the questions you want. It works a whole lot better and you get it straight.

The class action in PA was great for those that were not excluded. After two years the settlement between the state and BGC was able to exclude me because I had not filed directly with the Attorney General within two years of purchase. I did however make multiple complaints via telephone to there collections dept, customer service, etc. I am very frustrated by this. I just want to get rid of the damn thing. Somehow they always wiggle their way out when we suffer. I will gladly join another class action!

Now there seems to be no end in sight and BlueGreen seems to think they have an open checkbook for maintenance fees. Ours have tripled in 7 years. Contact me at ""
